Terri Jones
Terri is happily married to a Designer at a Civil-Engineering Firm in Oviedo, and is the proud mother of a son and a daughter. Terri’s motto is “Life is Full!” and her philosophy is, “What goes around comes around, so always be nice!” Fun Facts About Terri! - Born in Jackson, Mississippi, the 5th of five children - Graduated High School in 1975 from Jackson Central - Attended College from 1975-1976 at Jackson State University - Completed Pharmacy Technician training at the V.A. Hospital in San Francisco, CA in 1976 - Continues Education at Valencia Community College, Winter Park - Moved to Orlando in May of 1980 - Started volunteering for Leukemia Society in 1981 - Was on staff of Leukemia Society, Central Florida from ’82-’92 - Left Leukemia Society in 1992 to help found BASE Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation with Laurie and Ben Dillard

Rebecca Golden
Rebecca joined the BASE camp team in 2022. She is a student at the University of Central Florida studying Child Life. When Rebecca is not at BASE Camp helping Rachel with marketing and administration, she is delivering meals to our patients and families at AdventHealth Hospital for Children. She also spends time in the Child Life department at Nemours Children’s Health.

Cindy Whitaker
Cindy joined the BASE Camp Team in 2004 knowing firsthand what it means to be on the cancer journey. Her son, Danny, was diagnosed with medulloblastoma. Cindy got to know Terri and BASE Camp at the hospital and, knowing the value of the programs, continued on to join the staff after her son went into remission. Cindy serves as BASE Camp’s Program Director and you will find her out at the hospitals and overnight camps, delivering the programs she loves to the families we love.

Rachel Perez
Rachel joined the BASE Camp team in 2009. If she’s not leading karaoke with the kids, you will find her in the back office working on volunteer coordination, marketing, accounting, development, and special event production.

Dennis Rivera
Dennis is an Army veteran and a father of five children. His son Caled was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (Bone Cancer) at a young age of six years. After his son’s recovery. Dennis joined Basecamp to help provide a different type of support for our kids. Dennis overseas Basecamp Nautical Department.

Alice Weinberg
Retired
Alice retired from her position with the Seminole County Property Appraiser recently and immediately immersed herself in serving Base Camp. She was familiar with the organization, having been involved in some capacity since it’s beginning; Alice has served in leadership roles on many local, state, and international organizations. Her skills include fund raising, events, volunteerism, planning, etc.; She has been involved with all Base Camp events and is familiar with the programs and mission. Call to Serve: “I want to share my skills and energy to move Base Camp into the future while providing sustainable funding and support for its valuable programs supporting our children and families.”

Erik became involved with Base Camp to make a difference, and has served on various committees; Shortly after he moved from Palm Beach, Florida he contacted Base Camp to volunteer; Call to Serve: “As a parent of a child with cancer, I want to be a part of helping Base Camp grow and spread the word of what we do.”

Anthony’s background as an elected official has placed him in leadership roles on a variety of boards and committees for community involvement; His leadership roles include cultural, environmental and social events, enhancing his fund raising, organizing and team building skills; Anthony’s Base Camp involvement includes: the Gala Committees, Base Camp office projects and several years as waiter and table host at the Celebrity Waiter Luncheons; Call to Serve: “I want to help Base Camp with fundraising to grow their future - use me as needed.”

Jon completed College and requirements for his CPA designation recently. Following employment in his field, he was interested in sharing his extensive volunteer skills as an organizer and volunteer for political campaigns; He agreed to serve on the 2023 Base Camp Gala Committee, and continues to serve for the 2024 event; Jon’s family influenced his interest in serving his community and they have supported Base Camp on many occasions; Call to Serve: “I enjoy community involvement and working on a team to accomplish goals.”

Lee Ann has provided a leadership role serving two years as the Decor Chair for the Gala and using her design skills and product donation. A volunteer design team was organized by her for two Galas. Her firm hosted a corporate table for two Gala events and she has organized space at the Base Camp office with her team; She intends to continue to serve Base Camp where ever needed; Call to Serve: “Nothing makes me as happy as how I feel when serving, as I have been blessed in my life and want to serve others”.

Niki’s Church organized a group to raise funds to support cancer patients facing medial expenses; Her first introduction to Base Camp was volunteering for an Annual Base Camp family Christmas party. She became interested in Base Camp; She purchased a table for the 2022 Gala, and subsequently served on the 2023 Gala team and currently on 2024; Call to Serve: “I want to be involved in my community and bring smiles to the faces of those in need”.

David has served on numerous Board of Directors in leadership roles for those organizations; he has utilized his background in finance, networking, knowledge of real estate values and management skills for over thirty years; His involvement in Base Camp events includes, Celebrity Waiter Luncheons as a Waiter and table host, the 2022-24 Gala as a table sponsor and has assisted Base Camp when called upon. David was the 2023 recipient of the “Jim Weinberg Legacy Award” for his Base Camp support and community service; Call to Serve: “Base Camp’s mission is very close to my heart; the support given to the children and families fulfills a need that is often overlooked.”
Lindsay has served on many community boards and as well in statewide leadership roles in her field of PR; she is an instructor at the University of Central Florida and Nicholson School of Communication and Media; Lindsay has substantial experience in event planning and management, organizing volunteers, corporate training, communications, public relations and team building. She has served Base Camp at two Galas and Celebrity Waiter Luncheons; Call to Serve: “I love my board involvement and consider it a highlight of my career; as a parent I can’t imagine watching my child struggling with cancer; an organization that helps a family with that burden to know they aren’t alone is worth supporting”.
Michelle is a successful businesswoman and entrepreneur. She has served on numerous local community boards and appointed to several statewide business boards; Her area of expertise is in marketing, networking and fund raising. She has been successful in leadership roles in political campaigns; Call to Serve:

Missy has extensive expertise developed by working with business oriented boards, volunteers and staff. As an Events Manager with a large Chamber of Commerce she excelled in the area of major and minor event planning in the non-profit and educational areas and is very familiar with budget restraints in planning. She has volunteered on numerous occasions for Base Camp including Celebrity Waiter eventand the 2023 Gala. Missy is an experienced grass roots organizer and successful team member; Call to Serve: “I want to assist Base Camp with my experience and support their mission to help families going through cancer.“

Ted has served in leadership roles for both community and real estate oriented Central Florida organizations. Ted is a successful digital creator and is the Co-Creator at Ted’s Community and Creator and Host at The Ted Show; Ted brings unique skills to Base Camp in fund raising, planning, awareness, and networking. He has been a long time supporter of the organization serving on the Board, attending Celebrity Waiter and Gala events, and bringing others to support the mission; Call to Serve: “I have loved Base Camp for years and believe in the mission.”
