Here are some BASE Camp ACCO of FL projects which need volunteers.

BASE Camp Lunch & Dinner @ Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital
-
BASE CAMP delivers daily to 3 area hospitals* and their outpatient clinics which serve central Florida children who are on treatment for cancer and other life-threatening hematology illnesses.
*Arnold Palmer Children's: M & W we deliver Lunch and Friday its Dinner & A movie
*Florida Children's: variable days
*Nemours Children's: Friday lunch & a movie
We deliver breakfast, lunch or dinner ... Bagels & cream cheese, burgers, tacos, Olive Garden, red lobster.
We most often get the food donated, and can use help:
-----Picking up the food from the restaurant
-----Delivering the food to the hospital or clinic
-----Serving the food to the children and their caregivers

FOOD Drive for Cancer children & Family – FOOD BASKETS
-
Food Drive for Families who have a child with cancer -- collect a weeks’ worth of non-perishable groceries for 25-50 families and deliver Food Boxes to the Central Florida outpatient clinics and hospitals serving children who are currently being treated for cancer and other life-threatening hematology disorders.

Marketing Campaign

Marketing Campaign for Families who have a child with cancer -- help find printing sponsors and sources for marketing resources for children who are currently being treated for cancer and other life-threatening hematology disorders.

Miles For Smiles
-
Help BASE Camp find participants to walk, run, skip, jump, swim, rollerblade to help raise much needed funds for BASE Camps year-round, ongoing programs! Print and distribute 5000 brochures for this event. BASE Camp 5k/10k in April and Awareness walk in September 2010.

BASE Camp 2nd WISHES

Hundreds of local children are being denied wishes due to the fact that they have previously had a wish. Even though they have re-occurred and are once again on treatment for their illness. Help 1-3 children with $250-$500 2nd wishes.

"Pimp" Our Rides

BASE camp has TWO old vehicles; a 2000 15-passenger Dodge RAM Van and a 1971 Volkswagen SUPER BEETLE that need to be painted and "revved" up both mechanically and with new logos or WRAPPED with the latest banners!

FISHING FOR KIDS WITH CANCER

BASE camp has a program to take kids fishing and get them a fishing pole, rod/reel, tackle box, etc. Fishing is a SPORT kids who have or have had cancer can participate in! Help coordinate a FISHING day!

GOLF FOR KIDS WITH CANCER

BASE camp has a program to take kids golfing and get them a set of clubs, shoes and a course that will let them take lessons and play for free! Golf is a SPORT kids who have or have had cancer can participate in! Help find a GOLF sponsor for a special child.

Christmas and Christmas In July

BASE camp has TWO wonderful Christmas based events; a traditional Christmas party in December at the 1st United Methodist Church of Winter park, and a FUN SUMMER time; picture Santa in shorts!, Christmas in July. Each party is filled with gifts for all the children, family and individual photos, games, DJ, dancing, food and FUN! Help us organize a fun day for our special kids and their families.

Teen Prom and Little’s & Middles Prom & Overnight Camp

BASE camp has TWO special FORMAL events for the children the only difference is the age group! Each event the boys get FREE TUXEDO rentals and the GIRLS get a FREE DRESS to keep. Each PROM is similar to a traditional HIGH SCHOOL PROM photo booths, DJ, dancing, food, KING AND QUEEN Sashes and Crowns, lots of FUN! Help us organize a fun night and overnight camp for our special kids and their families.

Ipads/computers for kids

BASE camp wants to give EVERY newly diagnosed patient a computer or ipad. These items will help the children and their families stay connected as well as give them a means of escape; watching movies, playing games, etc.
