BASE Camp Children's Cancer Foundation
Mission Statement
We provide a year-round base of support for children and families who are facing the challenge of living with cancer and other life-threatening hematological illnesses.
We Call It BASE Camp Because...
BASE Camp has a double meaning. First, it is an acronym for Believe, Achieve, Support, and Educate. Second, like the encampments that are built as climbers ascend mountains, BASE Camp programs offer a place to stop along the journey for rest, nourishment, encouragement and strength to finish the climb. We feel that cancer, sickle cell anemia, hemophilia, and other rare/orphan hematological diseases are just such mountains in childrens lives.
Members Are...
We serve not only the children who are patients, but their brothers and sisters too. Our members are children, aged 0 to 19 year, who are ill with cancer or other hematological disease, or are the sibling or child of the person with the illness.
BASE Camp Is...
BASE Camp is unique in that is makes a difference in the lives of children on a regular basis. Our programs focus on "being normal," participating in peer groups, which children who are not affected by life-challenging illnesses take for granted.

BASE Camp Childhood Cancer Foundation, established in Orlando Florida in 1982, focuses on providing a YEAR-ROUND series of programs to help children and families along the journey of cancer and other life-threatening hematological illnesses.
BASE Camp's weekly hospital-lunch delivery, monthly overnight camps, parent-support groups, clinic parties, and weekly events help children pass through the toughest days of treatment.
